About Dr. Robert Polgar
Dr Robert Polgar studied business administration at the Free University of Berlin and completed his doctorate at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. After many years of management experience in the healthcare sector, he moved to the non-university research landscape in 2014 and took over the commercial management of a Leibniz Institute in Bamberg. Since 2020, he has been the administrative director of the Media in Education Foundation and, together with the scientific director, has headed the Leibniz Institute for Knowledge Media (IWM) in Tübingen.
His work at the Institute focuses on the optimization of administrative processes and the strategic and sustainable development of the organization. In 2022, together with colleagues from the Leibniz Institutes in Frankfurt am Main and Kiel, he initiated the project WorkNew@Leibniz, which aims to integrate aspects and methods of New Work into the Leibniz Association with its 96 institutes. This project has given rise to another initiative for the sustainable sharing of resources and infrastructure within the Leibniz Association and beyond.
