About Prof. Jürg Steiner
Prof. Juerg Steiner, *1950, attended public schools in Zurich, his birthplace. He qualified as a theatre technician in the 1970s and has been based in Berlin since 1972, where he further qualified as a stage manager and lighting technician. In 1980, he entered into the world of exhibitions and museums, and later, as an exhibition designer, he founded the companies Museumstechnik GmbH and System 180 GmbH. In 1992, he was admitted to the Berlin Chamber of Architects, and in 1996, he became a member of the Association of German Architects.
In 2000, he accepted an invitation from the University of Wuppertal, where he was responsible for exhibition and trade fair design until 2015. Alongside his work with System 180© and space design, he develops fittings for both permanent and temporary exhibitions. One of his specialities is lighting design, with numerous luminaires being sold through various suppliers. He remains associated with System 180© as a partner.
