About Ben van Berkel
Ben van Berkel studied architecture at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and the Architectural Association in London, graduating with honors in 1987. Together with Caroline Bos, he co-founded the Van Berkel & Bos Architectuurbureau a year later, translating their theoretical and writing projects into architectural practice. In 1998, they co-founded UNStudio (United Network Studio). Berkel has spearheaded innovative workplace concepts, exemplified by projects like the Booking.com Campus in Amsterdam and the PwC headquarters in Düsseldorf, with a focus on well-being and sustainability. A seasoned speaker, Ben van Berkel delivers presentations globally, including TEDx events, where he explores the interplay between architecture and well-being. He is actively engaged as a lecturer at numerous architecture schools worldwide and currently serves as the Master of Architecture Thesis Chair at the IE School of Architecture and Design. From 2011 to 2018, he held the role of Kenzo Tange Visiting Professor at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
