New management takes the helm of ORGATEC and ORGATEC WORKSPACE Saudi Arabia
Koelnmesse has repositioned itself for a successful future with a new management structure: Maik Fischer, currently the director of interzum, will now also take over as director of ORGATEC and the newly created idd cologne. Thomas Postert, who recently oversaw the successful reorientation of ORGATEC in Cologne, will now be in charge of ORGATEC WORKSPACE Saudi Arabia.
Maik Fischer: harnessing synergiesMaik Fischer already has a successful seven-year track record as the director of interzum, the world’s leading trade fair for furniture production and interior design. He will now be able to draw on his extensive knowledge of the trade fair business and experience in the sector as he also leads ORGATEC and simultaneously pushes ahead with the development of interior design days cologne (idd cologne). The parallels between the events’ content and their close dovetailing make Fischer ideally suited to assume the management of ORGATEC in Cologne as well. Aged 46, he holds a university diploma in Business Administration. Having specialised in the trade fair business while still a student, he gathered valuable experience in marketing and sales at various companies. From 2015, Fischer oversaw project management for the foreign trade fairs Feria Mueble & Madera, Andina Pack and Alimentec in Colombia before taking over interzum in 2018.
Thomas Postert: ORGATEC set to expand in Saudi Arabia
Thomas Postert is taking up the position of director of the newly developed ORGATEC WORKSPACE Saudi Arabia with immediate effect. Having overseen ORGATEC’s successful reorientation last year, he will now turn his attention to the global ORGATEC portfolio, focusing on its Saudi Arabian counterpart initially. The 51-year-old trade fair expert has held management positions at Koelnmesse for more than 23 years. His expertise and strong industry network were instrumental in ORGATEC’s success and the event’s exceptional development. He will now use this experience to successfully establish the new format ORGATEC WORKSPACE Saudi Arabia.
ORGATEC 2026: A business festival devoted to modern work environments

Die Koelnmesse stellt sich mit einer neuen personellen Struktur für die Zukunft auf: Maik Fischer, bislang Director der interzum, übernimmt zusätzlich die Leitung der ORGATEC und der neu geschaffenen idd cologne. Thomas Postert, der zuletzt die erfolgreiche Neuausrichtung der ORGATEC in Köln verantwortete, leitet künftig die ORGATEC WORKSPACE Saudi Arabia.
Maik Fischer: Synergien nutzenMaik Fischer ist bereits seit sieben Jahren erfolgreich als Director der interzum, der Weltleitmesse für Möbelfertigung und Interior Design, tätig. Mit seinem umfassenden Wissen und seiner Erfahrung in der Messewirtschaft wird er nun auch die ORGATEC führen und zugleich die Entwicklung der interior design days (idd cologne) vorantreiben. Die inhaltlichen Parallelen und die enge Verzahnung dieser drei Veranstaltungen bieten die ideale Basis dafür, dass Fischer nun auch die Leitung der ORGATEC in Köln verantwortet. Der 46-jährige Diplom-Kaufmann spezialisierte sich bereits während seines Studiums auf Messewirtschaft und sammelte in verschiedenen Unternehmen wertvolle Erfahrungen in Marketing und Vertrieb. Ab 2015 steuerte Fischer die Projektleitung für die Auslandsmessen Feria Mueble & Madera, Andina, Pack und Alimentec in Kolumbien, bevor er 2018 die interzum übernahm.
