About Thomas Schmidt
Thomas Schmidt was born in Dortmund in 1964. After training at Siemens and attending a technical college in Dortmund, he studied architecture at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences in 1988 and at Dortmund Technical University in 1996. After working for the State Building Authority in Bochum and Prof. Gerold Wech/Arteplan in Dortmund, Schmidt joined SSP AG in 1996. He has been a project manager here since 2001, a partner since 2009 and a member of the Management Board since 2013.
In addition to this activity, he joined the NRW Chamber of Architects in 1996, was a lecturer in building construction at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences, conducted specialist examinations there, supervised theses, was a member of the Master's development team “Architecture and Energy” and a cooperation partner in the research area “Planning and Building in Structural Change”.
Schmidt has been a member of the VBI since 2008, of the Deutscher Werkbund since 2018 and joined the BDA team in 2021.
