About Jim Williamson
Jim is an Interior Designer, Client Relationship leader and Design Manager based in Washington DC. He is focused on developing clear project delivery process and team dynamics working across the delivery Disciplines and Practice Area experts to maximize the Client experience delivering large, complex projects. He has worked with some of the most recognizable brands in the world as well as extensive government agencies.
Jim co-leads Gensler’s Global Design Synergy Community and serves on the Leadership Operations Committee at Gensler. In the role, Jim works with the global Discipline leaders on developing future strategies, delivery best practices, training, recruiting and professional development.
As Firmwide Design Management Leader from 2012-2022, Jim co-led the ideation, development and implementation of many of Gensler’s project management tools, reporting and consistency of practice across the Firm.
Jim is a former International President and Board Member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and as a Fellow of IIDA, formerly served as Chair of the College of Fellows of IIDA. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland and resides in Washington, DC.
