The event
Drees & Sommer’s ‘Redesigning the Future’ workshop invites participants to reflect together on the future of the construction and property industry and develop innovative solutions. Headed by Giulio Castegini, the workshop will focus on seven key topics for the future: construction culture, participation, automation, connectivity, climate neutrality, resilience and circularity. These topics reflect the need to think beyond construction and develop a holistic perspective on ecological, economic and social issues.
The workshop encourages discussion about where a re-design of the future must be a co-design with users and where not. Participants are invited to contribute to questions such as ‘What constitutes good design?’ or ‘How can the quality of a sustainable redesign be assessed?’. The role that sustainability and the selection of materials – from their origin to the carbon footprint and reuse – play in a future worth living will also be discussed.
