The event
The return to the office demands innovative concepts that meet modern and volatile requirements. Adaptive spatial structures play a key role in this process, as they can easily adapt to changing needs and continuously create new spaces for creativity and communication. These areas are ideally open for appropriation and allow for temporary, individual personalization of the immediate work environment, while also taking team needs into account. Floating structures aim to unite these sometimes contradictory demands within a single concept. They transform a space from focused solitary work into spontaneous mini-workshops or simply stimulate team communication. Floating is also a slow, steady state of transition. Things remain in motion, expanding the traditional concept of static space to include a dynamic component. While floating structures may require a touch of magic, they are feasible, and most importantly, they can be planned and implemented. Concrete examples will illustrate how this can be achieved.
